FAQ

Business line of credit, explained plainly

What is a business line of credit?

A form of credit where the lender sets a limit on how much the business may borrow, and you draw funds as needed rather than receiving one lump sum.

What is it used for?

Paying recurring operating costs, supporting cyclical or seasonal cash flow, and covering unexpected situations or emergencies.

Secured or unsecured?

Both exist. For a secured line of credit, the owner provides some business and personal assets as collateral.

Does it renew?

The terms are revolving and subject to credit review and annual renewal.

Line of credit or term loan?

A line of credit suits ongoing or uneven needs. A term loan gives a set amount up front, and bank term loans usually offer larger amounts and longer terms.
