FAQ
Card processing, explained plainly
Who handles a card payment for my business?
Your business works with an acquirer, also called an acquiring bank, merchant bank or card or payment processor, which processes card payments on your behalf.
What is an interchange fee?
A fee the card-issuing bank receives on a card transaction. For debit cards, federal Regulation II sets standards for the interchange fee a large issuer can receive; certain small issuers are exempt.
Can I choose how debit transactions are routed?
Under Regulation II, issuers and networks can’t limit debit transactions to fewer than two unaffiliated networks, or stop a merchant from directing the routing over any network the issuer has enabled.
What is PCI DSS?
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Being PCI DSS compliant means meeting all of its applicable requirements on a continuous basis.
Will you look at what I pay now?
Yes. Choose “Review my statement” in the form below. We won’t promise you will pay less, and any change is reviewed with you first.
